With this admission ticket to the San Francisco Zoo, the way you spend your time is up to you. The zoo is open daily, so you’ll have plenty of time to explore the grounds at your own pace.

There are more than 20 exhibits at the zoo with more than 1,000 animals to see, so you’ve got your work cut out for you. Start by stopping by the Koala Crossing Exhibit where five furry friends hang out, and point them out while they sit up high in the eucalyptus trees they like to eat off of.

Check out the meerkats and prairie dogs, and learn how two animals from two different continents can have so much in common. Don’t miss out on seeing Bear Country or Eagle Island, and the Insect Zoo is also a good place to visit if you’re into creepy-crawly creatures.

If you need some time away from all the animals, you can walk the gardens, hit the playground, or even hop on a train (own expense). Whatever you spend your time doing, you’ll walk away knowing much more about animals than you did before.

Available Zoo General Admission tickets

I could not find an available general admission ticket on the Zoo website for the day I wanted to go. I learned that there may be options through Viator. I made the reservation easily for the day I wanted and there were no time entry requirements like through the Zoo website. Will use Viator again for zoo admission.

Lots of animals not out or exhibit closed. Signs showing "high touch point" on railings but didn't see anyone coming to wipe down or disinfect areas. On several occasions watched as multiple people/kids touched same spot within moments of each other.

Perfect! Was able to get tickets even after the zoo website was sold out! Very grateful. Was able to see most of the animals except the lion house was closed because of covid and the elephants weren't out. Besides that, great trip!
