Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Choose a morning or afternoon pickup from the French Quarter and climb aboard your coach for the ride deep into Cajun country. Watch the changing scenery as the cityscape transitions into expansive wetlands. You coach delivers you to the launch point across the Mississippi River, where you’ll transfer to an open‐sided, covered boat and set off on the fun and educational ride.

Your native guide will take you on a wildlife‐spotting expedition through this legendary Louisiana terrain. Glide along the water, viewing the lush greenery and abundant local wildlife, including nesting alligators, egrets, raccoons, snakes, and giant nutria. Some wildlife are more easily spotted during the warmer months of the year.  Get great photos and learn about the history and mystery of the swamps, including the culture and ingenuity of the Cajun people who have populated this region for almost 250 years. Your guides will share stories about Cajun music, bayou lifestyle, and culinary traditions — like the creation of Louisiana’s signature gumbo, as well as information about the region’s passionate efforts to preserve the wetlands.

Your coach returns to the French Quarter by mid‐afternoon or evening.

Nice way to past the time

The overall experience was a nice venture. It was difficult to hear and understand the captain of the vessel. The inside of the boat floor got a little wet, so be careful of the shoes you wear. I would recommend this experience just to have something different to do.

Fun swamp tour!

Overall, the experience was fun! The tour guide and bus driver were super friendly! Made some pretty fun memories! Only things I would like to have improved would be 1) the speaker on the bus because we couldn’t hear Dwayne all the way in the back for the instructions and the tour narration. 2) Perhaps have a food station of sorts at the dock area for the swamp tour for guests to buy actual meals and not just snacks. I feel that you could make a good bit of profit of the demand for it there. But again, overall I highly recommend the experience!

Great family experience

You don't have to drive to the boat, the driver explained about the area we drove through. Upon arrival plenty of time to refresh ourselves, get beverages and snacks. Our captain was fun. We saw lots of alligators and told us the history of the area. Air conditioned return trip was nice. Would recommend this trip.

No covid restrictions enforced
Tiffany_W
, Apr 2021
Boarding was complicated and took longer than it needed to. Masks were not enforced AT ALL.. about half the people on the bus did not wear a mask and almost all the people on the boat did not wear a mask either. We were seated right against one another with no distancing on the boat whatsoever. Ride was enjoyable but covid restrictions basically did not exist.

Save your money.

It was ok. Not what I expected. Was expecting to see more alligators, or even go deep into the swamp. It was not worth the money. It was really just an average slow boat ride

Decent experience

The captain was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. The scenery was very nice. I enjoyed being able to hold the small gator. However, the long wait just to board the boats and fight a bunch of bumblebee was quite annoying. I also expected to see more “swamp” than what we did. We were out for a decent amount of time, but remained on one spot for most of it. I wanted a real swamp tour.
