Your journey through mystical New Orleans’ begins in the French Quarter. Choose a morning or afternoon start time and meet your friendly local guide for a narrated walk through the French Quarter. Discover the architectural diversity of the area as you pass French and Spanish‐inspired buildings, gorgeous Creole townhouses, ‘Entresol’ houses and shotgun homes. Catch a glimpse of a cloistered courtyard and hear of its utilitarian function.

As you stroll, enjoy tales of New Orleans’ voodoo history and peek into a small shop that specializes in voodoo ritual materials such as herbs, oils, and amulets. Hear more from your guide about a largely misunderstood religion that still enjoys a formidable presence in New Orleans.

Take a short break at the old train station. Then walk through Louis Armstrong Park where you visit Congo Square, a historical site from the 1800s. Here, slaves and free people met on Sunday to openly trade, socialize, play music, dance and practice voodoo rituals.

To see cemeteries from inside the gates with your favorite beverage in hand, choose the BYOB Cemetery Insiders option. You'll experience three of New Orleans’ historical cemeteries and learn of the city's unique burial traditions.

Please note that this tour covers about one mile of the city, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

This was the highlight of my New Orleans experience. Our tour guide was fun, and full of spunk. She had many stories that made you laugh, and drop a jaw a time or two. Wonderful tour. Great history lesson.

Taylor knew his stuff. He shared all sorts of details about the way the cemeteries work. I leaned a lot!! Maybe would have liked to have heard more about the unique funeral rights New Orleanians are famous for, but still a really great tour. Taylor obviously loves his city and the people that make it tick. That certainly came through during the tour. Also appreciated the A/C bus in between stops and the fun little coffee shop we stopped at. Think it was called Sacred Grounds.

Nothing vodoo related. We just visted 3 cemeteries. Tour guide concentrated on the Katrina memorial more than anything.

Hi Anna, I'm sorry to hear you weren't satisfied with your tour. It sounds to me like you booked the Cemetery Insiders tour, which does not include a voodoo or French Quarter portion. If you'd like to take that tour we do offer it!

Very informative tour. Graham was good. Tour did get to be a little long. Also because the Cemetery is closed we did not get there. Graham was happy to point us in the right direction to go on our own then.
