Know before you book with Viator

I am very disappointed with our experience with Viator. My son and I purchased two combo tickets for the Country Music Hall museum (CMH) and the RCA studio tour. The site did not include enough details about the tour and most importantly, it did not explain that AFTER purchasing your tickets, you had to schedule a time slot with the CMH and RCA Studios. It simply gave the hours of operation. That would not be a problem with the museum because it is a self guided tour, but the RCA studio tour required getting a seat on a bus. After purchasing the tickets online we received a confirmation number to obtain our tickets on site. In small print after the confirmation, there was a link to a different site to schedule your slot, which we never saw. When we arrived at the CMH museum, we were told that there was only one seat available for two different time slots that were hours apart. I told my son to take the first available seat and that I did not want to wait around for hours and then go by myself. This was our last day in Nashville so I went to the counter and asked to cancel and for a refund of my ticket. The woman told me I had to contact Viator to receive a refund from them. She also told me that if we had booked directly with them, we would have seen availability and scheduled when we purchased our ticket. I recommend that you purchase your tickets directly with CMH and RCA Studios for the tour, rather than through Viator! We contacted Viator later that day (Wednesday) and were told we would get a call back within 3 days with a resolution. It is Saturday and we have not received a call! I’m very unhappy with Viator! The site should have included more specific details and should have shown availability BEFORE you purchase tickets. And if a further reservation was necessary, they should have stated it much more clearly, boldly, AND before you purchased your tickets!!!

The studio tour was fantastic. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the music and artists. It was very interesting and I loved all the music and antidotes. The country music hall of fame was a sensory overload. So much to see, read and experience. If you are a country music fan then both of these are for you.

I loved the combined tours of the museum and studio B as I only had to Uber to the museum to enjoy both. I loved the guide for the studio B tour. Her enthusiasm and knowledge really made the tour. I loved seeing the famous Steinway piano featured on so many classic hit songs (Floyd Cramer's Last Date is an all time favorite song of mine). I appreciated that the museum is set up chronologically and wow, was there a lot to see! It was an added bonus that there is a snack bar in the lobby as I spent hours looking around and didn't have to leave for food.
