Overview

Discover the underwater world of Catalina Island during a 45-minute ride on a semi-submarine. The semi-sub allows you to view the marine life of Avalon Bay as you dive six feet (two meters) below the surface at Lovers' Cove. Stay dry as you get a close look at fish feeding around the submarine, then take in views of the island from your vessel's top deck during the return journey to Avalon.

Excellent 35 minute tour

This was a great experience! You can see (and feed) the fish up close. They only accept cash for fish food, so bring some small bills. The only downside is the tour was shorter than the promised 45 minutes. We left the dock a few minutes later than the time on the ticket and got back a bout five minutes early. More like a 35 minute tour, and more time checking out the fish and kelp forest would have been appreciated

They need to wear masks inside the sub...only a couple kinds of fish and the food is expensive...the crew member was very kind and took our picture...

We had a great time on our semi-submarine tour! Feeding the fish was awesome & definitely worth it to see the fish swarm to your window.

I would highly recommend the submarine adventure where they take you out into the marina and you see fish, natural kelp and ecosystem. It is so fun and you get to shoot food to the fish and they just come right up to you. You don’t fully get submerged but you’re underwater and it’s as close as you can get to scuba diving without scuba diving. As an adult I had a lot of fun and I’m sure kids would love this adventure.

Not worth the money considering the fish food

The fish viewing was nice, the sub itself was comfortable, ample room. The huge drawback was purchasing the "fish food" which would be shot out of the sub to make the fish come and eat. It was expensive and the children on the sub kept wanting to "shoot out more food" to make the fish come. This made the experience less than optimal. I feel the glass bottom boat was a better deal

Right on time. Our guide was very attentive and so nice. Very engaged with our 8 yr old grandson, identifying fish species and their habits in an interesting way. Fish were amazing. Would definitely go again!
