Historic Nashville: Andrew Jackson's Hermitage & Belle Meade Plantation

Historic Nashville Tour with Andrew Jackson's Hermitage & Tennessee State Museum
Both The Hermitage and the Belle Meade Plantation were great destinations to visit. i was disappointed with he Gray Line Bus Company driver and buffet lunch. He was very knowledgeable and spoke well, however, he lacked a friendly personality and did not interact well with customers. Those individuals that work in the "Hospitality Industry" should be friendly and outgoing. Personally, I did not feel the food was that great and the buffet didn't even have fried chicken breasts.

Historic Nashville Tour with Andrew Jackson's Hermitage & Tennessee State Museum
The tour was first rate and on schedule. Both the Hermitage and Belle-Meade Plantations are worth visiting to learn and see the local history. The driver was very informative, polite, and did an overall excellent job.

Historic Nashville Tour with Andrew Jackson's Hermitage & Tennessee State Museum
I enjoyed the tour very much. The bus driver gave us a lot of history and information about the sites even before we arrived at each place. The staff in period costumes at the two locations were also knowledgable and a delight to interact with.

Historic Nashville Tour with Andrew Jackson's Hermitage & Tennessee State Museum
The Hermitage (Pres. Jackson's home) was exquisite and remarkably well maintained. It was very interesting learning about the history of both sites and the special efforts made to recover original personal property that was sold during times of financial hardship.

Historic Nashville Tour with Andrew Jackson's Hermitage & Tennessee State Museum
Our tour guide Steven was right on time for the pick-up, kept the group on a timely schedule without ever feeling rushed. He shared lots of interesting facts on the drive to/from both Belle Meade and the Hermitage we would unlikely have discovered otherwise. We enjoyed seeing both plantations and getting a good sense of that period of time. It was lovely day for taking the tour and that always helps make any day of site-seeing better too!

We had a great time on this tour. Very educational. Lunch was very good. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The length of time at the Hermitage was a little too long.
